Fiach's Thank you Dinner

We had a few friends round to thank them for pushing the Cheffactor Voting on Facebook. I cooked an Autumnal supper of Roast Pork Belly and Damson Sauce with Roast Potatoes and Green Sprouting Broccoli, which went down very well! While serving the meal, I was struck by just how local pretty much all of the ingredients were. The potatoes and broccoli were grown by my wife, Tracy, in our garden. She picked the damsons from a neighbouring hedgerow. And the pig?? He was a free-range Tamworth with whom I was acquainted - he didn't die in vain!!!

Hey guys!

I see someone has gotten there before me... but I made the Chef Factor Voting Woes movie! Looks like it's getting a good response too - I'll take it as a compliment that I didn't get there first Smile

Noirin's tastings

My entry is 'Noirin's Nutritious Soda Bread'. I organised tastings of my soda bread in my parents grocery shop last week. Unfortunately due to the volume (it's just a small village shop and post office) and age profile of the customers (pension day), my votes did not increase much but it was good fun on the day and I did spread the word about Cully and Sully Smile

Thanks Noirin

Keeley's photo opportunity

Hello everyone!

While working at Midleton farmers market yesterday I came across a great photo opportunity!!

I've been working part-time at the markets for the past eight years as well as a stint in The English Market with The Real Olive Company, which has opened my eyes to an amazing culinary world!

I'd love to get to the final of Chef factor 2011, and have a chance to compete for the greatest prize EVER!!!

Thanks a lot guys,

Keely!

Wayne on the campaign trail- Thank you Waterford!!!

Before my campaign in City Square started I had planned to call into the Book Centre in Waterford to meet Rachael Allen at her book signing, the book is great and will go with my collection to be used daily Smile Its called Easy Meals and is well worth the few sheckles I paid Smile

She was so nice, it really was a pleasure to meet her, we chatted about Chef Factor and what I was up to, (she had a giggle at my dodgy home made, Vote Wayne t-shirt ha) she wished me good luck and even wrote me a message on my book Smile

Hopefully I get to meet her again in Ballymaloe Smile

I've been campaigning with my video

Here is a video I made in an attempt to get some more votes for
cheffactor. I recently finished my masters in Food Marketing and I am finding it very difficult to break into the food industry It is very hard looking for the dream job, however I have been cooking alot more. My friends and family are happy with this:) so there are some positives.

I got myself into my local paper!

Hello Cully and Sully!

Just to let you guys know that I got into my local paper, the Anglo Celt, back home in Cavan! The paper published the story on Wednesday 2nd of November and with a weekly readership of 50,552 I had high hopes...
It's been three days now and out of the 50,552 people who have seen the article and Gingermaloe House... only 8 people have voted!

I'd like to thank those 8 people and fingers crossed a couple of thousand more will vote in the next few days! Wink
