I have been making novelty cakes for just over 2 years mainly for friends and family. Cake making is my main passion in life. I would love this chance to win the course to improve my pastry skills as my plan is to set up a cake business once my kids are in school. I try to cook healthy meals for my family but my general cooking skills need improving! I need to expand my repertoire before my kids and husband get bored of the same old dinners! I enjoy cooking but my planning needs work too
You have 500 characters to tell us about your dish:
This is a novelty cake made for Halloween. The cauldron was made from two 2L bowl cakes made in vanilla madeira & coloured with green food colour. The cakes were sandwiched together and covered with a layer of vanilla buttercream. The cake was covered in coloured fondant & dusted with edible silver dust. The vegetables & the witch were modelled from coloured fondant mixed with gum tragacanth. Her spoon is dried spaghetti covered in fondant. The witch & celery are supported with dried spaghetti
