You have 500 characters to tell us why you should win Cheffactor:
I should win Chef Factor because it would help me achieve my dream of learning in Ballymaloe. Cooking is more than just feeding people. The whole sensory aspect of cooking is as important as the food itself: why do we love stew? What is it about the aroma of certain things that make us feel safe, nostalgic, or tickle or taste buds? I love how cooking is such an accessible craft, everyone has their own stamp on recipes. I love food and cooking, experimenting and learning. That's why I should win!
You have 500 characters to tell us about your dish:
Apart from the chicken and sausage, you can add whatever veggies are looking sad in your fridge, this time I used a turnip, carrots and mushrooms. I used posh garlic+herb sausies from the English Market. Less is more in terms of seasoning. Keep it simple. What you end up with is a big lasagne dish full of chicken, sausage, veggies, and a thin thyme/garlicy broth. I served it with roughly mashed potato with spring onion, creme fraiche. Easy peasy comfort food for chilly Irish evenings!

wow, thanks everyone! It's not a professional pic (obviously!), but it does taste yummy. I have no idea how people have managed it, but there are entrants with 800 votes! amazing, I'd say my chances are slim now, but please share this link with your mates to increase my chance! I'd absolutely love to learn in Ballymaloe, I bought the Ballymaloe Cookery Course book and consult it all the time, year round, it would be great to get practical experience in the Mecca itself!
From academia to culinary delights, I'm your woman! Keep the votes coming, and thanks for the support! XXXX Méadhbh
Hi,
Just to add, don't worry if you are behind, there's loads of time left to get the votes in, this is a marathon, not a sprint!
Also Cully & Sully could have surprises planned during the competition, so keep the faith & keep the votes coming in!
Best of luck,
Shane
PS: Love the recycling in the background!
