I’ve always loved to cook. I started cooking at 8 years old when my Mam taught me how to make Madeira buns and haven’t looked back since. As well as baking I especially love to cook Mexican and Indian food (anything nice ‘n’ spicy!). To win Chef Factor would be an incredible opportunity for me to learn all I can about cooking and the food business and give me the tools I need to pursue a career in cookery. To work with food would be amazing and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else.
You have 500 characters to tell us about your dish:
Sirloin steak was marinated overnight in lime and orange juice with cumin, chilli sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, coriander and garlic and then stir-fried with peppers and onions. Tomatoes, corn, chilli and onion were fried in the juices from the meat and cooked rice was added to make the Mexican rice. The beef and rice were served in flour tortillas with sour cream along with tomato and coriander salsa and guacamole; the recipes for which were from the Ballymaloe cookery course cookbook.
