You have 500 characters to tell us why you should win Cheffactor:
I’ve mulled over so many ideas to fulfil my food passion until it hit me, I want to start my own business making fresh Lebanese food to sell in local supermarkets. So I searched for courses, found Ballymaloe 12-week cert, PERFECT! But, as I don’t have the means, my plan was instantly crushed. I resigned to the fact that I’d have to forge ahead through trial and error. Luckily, I stumbled across this competition (bit late, I know) but I saw it as a sign and it’s created a glimmer of hope for me.
You have 500 characters to tell us about your dish:
I have made a mezza of lamb and chicken kebabs, falafel, tabbouleh, fattoush, hoummus, tzatziki, roast vegetables with pine nuts served with olives, feta and flatbread. This is the type of food that I grew up on and can’t get enough of it. It’s appealing, healthy, tasty and different. I hope to start making this type of food (and if it works out, expand to other foods) to sell in supermarkets but don’t really have a clue of where to begin. I have so much to learn and am so eager to learn it.
