In the days of the Raj the Victorian Brits fused their taste for smoked fish in the morning with local Indian spices to create that immortal breakfast favourite: kedgeree - boiled eggs, smoked fish, spices and rice fusing in the mouth with a healthy dollop of natural yogurt. Seeing as I'm cooking in Ireland I thought I'd stick it into a pie and serve it with cabbage - curried in this instance. Scrummy! Kedgeree pie and warm curried cabbage salad - simple fare for noshing on the verandah!
