Bedtime reading of cookery books and an inherited passion for fresh food has for a long time just been a pastime. Chef Factor is a unique opportunity to turn it into a pursuit. Preparing and sharing food is at the very essence of how I love to spend time with the people I am closest to. Tastes seem to ooze wonderful memories: dipping my aunt’s homemade potato chips into her luscious asparagus dip or my grandmother’s bargeman’s stew that never fails to soothe – it’s time to make new memories!

This orange and olive oil cake is understated but sublime to taste. Its fresh citrus notes uplift and comfort on these crisp autumnal days. The cake is strewn with toasted pine nuts and in place of butter is olive oil, which I’ve infused with fresh sage leaves. The versatile herb perfectly mellows out the sweetness with its fragrant aroma and warm flavour. I serve this cake with an indulgent helping of honeyed ricotta cream and it‘s best when shared with friends over a big pot of tea!
