I am passionate about food and cooking. I’m a creative cook and I love coming up with my own recipes. Sometimes this works well, sometimes it doesn’t, but I always learn something from it! I keep a blog to record some of my escapades in the kitchen (www.caroline-in-the-kitchen.blogspot.com). My long term ambition is to open my own cafe. I would love to win this competition to take my love of cooking to the next level and to give me the technical skill to match my ambition in the kitchen.

You have 500 characters to tell us about your dish:

I love the wholesomeness of my chilli con carne. I am proud of this dish because it is my own recipe. I have taken elements from other chilli con carne recipes but I have combined them in my own special way! I have great fun with spices when I make this. The great thing about my dish is that it can be, in the spirit of its name, as fiery as you like it! I can tone down the heat or rev it up a notch. It is simple to make and will bubble away nicely on the hob once all the ingredients are added.
