You have 500 characters to tell us why you should win Cheffactor:
My dish reflects my enjoyment of cooking: I think outside the box (e.g. I used over 25 ingredients to create this dish), enjoy originality, & love to create new dishes. Although my background is not academic, I work hard & learn fast. I believe I have the dedication required to turn my hobby into a career if I made the finals & went on to win. To have a chance at a fresh start would be life changing, and could eventually lead to opening my own restaurant or even my own cookery school some day.
You have 500 characters to tell us about your dish:
Inspired by a love of travel, I looked to Brooklyn, New York. My dish reflects Brooklyn’s Italian tradition firstly with vanilla Panna cotta decorated with blackcurrant coulis. Next, the heart of the dish, Brooklyn Blackout cake, rich chocolate cake, filled with sumptuous chocolate custard & topped with a sprinkle of cake crumbs, to create the blackout effect. To finish, a night out is not complete without a cocktail, a Tequila Sunrise jelly, topped with meringue to add a little more sweetness!
