I should win the chef factor because all my life I have dreamt of commanding my own kitchen be it in a restaurant or in front of my stove at home. I like to try new things and I express this when I cook. I will take a classic dish and put a twist to it so that the dish becomes uniquely mine. Most of the time this works well but by experimenting I have built up a list of dishes I am proud of and I hope that when I win I can add to and improve my dishes by learning from the best! My dish is a twist on the classical Shepard's pie, the ultimate comfort food. All of the usual ingredients are there, Lamb, Golden wonders and my secret ingredients!! I learned the basis of this dish from my father but I have put my twist to it for practical reasons. Firstly I find the potatoes insulate the meat too much so it burns your mouth when you eat, hampering the flavour. Secondly it leaves behind a much cleaner dish and it looks better when served. Oh and it tastes great too
