There's an Irish saying that goes, 'Eaten Bread is Easy Forgotten'. I think I should win Cheffactor so I can get a chance at making bread people remember! Bread, that is. And cake. And buns. And sweets. And biscuits. And, well, just food full stop really. I want to make real food in a real way, respecting traditions while putting my own slant on things. Winning this competition would give me the chance to achieve the ambition that unemployment and circumstance is keeping me from.
You have 500 characters to tell us about your dish:
My dish is a Walnut Swiss Roll. Its filled with homemade Membrillo (quince paste) and soft Goat's Cheese that's sweetened with a local Honey and a bit of grated Nutmeg. I chose the filling, as I wanted to make a roulade with autumnal flavours as apposed to the obvious summer fruits or jam. I also like the idea of putting what people might think are savoury flavours in a sweet situation and seeing what happens! PS. It tastes kinda good! :D
