I want to win Cheffactor because I've picked up lots of things from cookery shows and cookbooks but I feel I lack the foundation knowledge that gives you the confidence to be creative. I daydream about opening an on the go deli where you can get great soups & stews in the winter & light, fresh salads and snacks in the summer. I love great food that's not overpriced and I believe when you get both right then there's always a market for it. Cheffactor is a brilliant opportunity to make this happen
You have 500 characters to tell us about your dish:
I have to credit my Dad, John with this dish, it's his recipe. It's a traditional Dublin stew that's a perfect dish for cold winter nights. There aren't many ingredients but it tastes delicious everytime. Quantities don't really matter with this, once the main elements are there you can't go wrong. The ingredients are sausages, bacon pieces, potatoes, carrots, leeks, celery, pearl barley, chicken stock, parsley. Basically it all goes in the pot and you cook it in a low oven for 2 hours - easy!
