The sole reason for winning the cheffactor would be only to learn cooking from the best, and to teach my sons to follow. Proper cooking is forgotten, we rely on jars and packages but the challenge is to rise above that and make a dish your own. ( even if you have to sneak in something out of a jar ;o}) its the satisfaction that you got a jar in the supermarket but can leave it in the larder because you have made something much tastier what the entire family enjoys.

This dish was a Sheppard's pie even before I knew it existed While growing up in Holland. The layers of mashed potato's with a hint of ground cumin to give it a little kick,that is followed with a layer of ground beef with saute'd onions. On top of that is the "difference" a fresh layer of Saurkraut / sour cabbage with diced apple what gives it a Continental flavour followed again with a layer of mash with a crackling crust of cheddar cheese
