I should win Cheffactor because I am in love with good food and the only way to prevent my heart from breaking is to help me learn to cook good food. There are few things better than getting a bunch of ingredients and without the addition of anything that says "simply pour on and heat through", create something to tingle your tastebuds. My passion is good food, its expression is eating but it's all nought without learning the art of cooking. And who better than those magicians at Ballymaloe

Layered lamb with rice is an aromatic, exotic, simple yet satisfying dish which will excite your tastebuds and warm you right through. The spices can be easily adjusted with little impact on the overall flavour. Also it's greatest friend is time. It's good the day of cooking, it's sublime when 24 hours of flavour infusion rewards such patience. The core ingredients are minced lamb, onions, lentils, rice and warming spices built in a lasagne-like layers. A side of lettuce helps keeps things cool.
