Day 3 in Ballymaloe Cookery School

Today was the first day that we were allowed to cook ourselves and as my teacher would put it "I came a cropper". Now im not sure what exactly this means but I gather it means I made a balls of it, or something to that effect.

I arrived on time but should have been early to organise myself and was greeted by chaos with 17 other stundents tryaing to gather ingredients etc. I finally got started on my soup. While my veg were sweating I felt like I had loads of time so decided I could fit in a loaf of bread while I was at it. Bad move! I weighed the flour on the wrong setting on the scales and the dough was all wrong and had to be thrown out, with no time start another.

Meanwhile my soup was overcooking, I then proceeded to over blend it and had to add more stock to thin it out and then reboil. On to my biscuits, while my soup sticks to the end of the pot. It tasted awful so couldnt be eaten but my biscuits were delicious.
